| After what seemed to be a non existent trip over the seas to Shinu, as he slept so soundly once again. When his eyes slowly opened, he spotted a bright ray slashing across the wooded floor and up across the door to his room. He knew that it was at least early morning, if not close to being noon. He slept well, and was feeling pretty good. However when he rose to his feet, his body ached despite not doing any exercise the day before. He tried to shake it off though, the anticipation within his soul was building as he now shifted his thoughts to those of his home. It had been a few days now since he'd seen his mother or any part of Kilika for that matter. Shinu was excited to see the shores splashing on the deck, the trees swaying in the forest, the outline of the temple resting just above the tree line. He was certain his friends would be excited to see him again, and boy would he have a story to tell. It started to get him thinking about the farewell he would receive upon continuing his journey. Leaving his mother would be the hardest, and he was ecstatic to see her again. He didn't mind being the first one awake, and it was actually what he would have preferred so he could lay eyes on his home first. He grabbed Nuraki and jogged out to the deck. He stepped out onto the dock and took a second for his eyes to get adjusted to the brightness of the day. When his eyes finally adjusted, he literally did not believe his eyes. Kilika had no more huts. There were no houses, no people. Scattered wood and leaves were all that remained. Sin's wrath that day destroyed everything. There was no sign that anyone lived on the shores for a very long time. One small wooden pier remained with a path leading into the forest and apparently the temple was still in tact. The sun beamed down heavily on the barren tropical wasteland of sorts. Fiends now overran the town and all that Shinu knew of Kilika was gone. The shimmering blue crystal water was splashing over the pier and dousing the various fiends that now inhabited Shinu's home. The wind here was much stronger than he remembered it as the trees in the woods could be seen swaying from a distance. Shinu stood there, looking at the fiends eating at the wasted land, attacking each other. He had no thoughts, nothing was running through his mind for a split second. Then it hit him. There was no more home for Shinu, there was no more mother for him either, everyone that was waiting on that shore that day was gone, everything had been destroyed. Fury swept over his body, and he stood there in a vain attempt to let the oncoming rage pass him by. He was just a time bomb ticking away, and soon, pretty soon he would explode. _________________

| Kat went out Shinu's room wen he felt asleep, she wanted to make sure he would had calm sleep. She closed the door carfully and walked to her room where she found Axel sitting on a chair with head on the table. She carefully woke him up and lead him to the bed covering him with blanket so he wasn't cold. Then she siently to not wake him up cleaned up the table and lied down on the bed next to the kid. She couldn't sleep wondering why her magic couldn't help Shinu. The only reason could be the aeon, but still she never heard about something like that. When she woke up the sun was just raising but she couldn't sleep more. She didn't went out her room either. First Kat took all the stuff they needed in their trip later and packed them to her backpack, then she took the only book she had with her and started reading knowing they soon would be on the island. The book was different from the oned she would always read. It was about magic, yes, but not white magic. There were spells like Fira or Blizaga. She knew she wouldn't be able to help in fight with her white magic so she had to learn something more. For now though she wouldn't try to cast spells like this. She was scred to hurt anyone even fiends so all she could do was to read the book. |

| Asuma awoke as the sun rose, unable to sleep. This was just one of the nights that he would just sit there for hours, unable to rest, unable to really do anything besides lay there. He got up, looking around his room for something to do. He found a map on the wall, next to the closed door. He hadn't seen it before then because the door had been blocking it the whole time. He looked at where Killika was, and then where Besaid was. If the conditions had been right, they would be in port right now. He stopped from going out of his room, looking on the map again, this time at Bevelle. He knew that sooner or later that they were going to head there. And that was the one place he didn't want to go. Even after he had moved on, he had never really liked Bevelle. It always seemed to him that the people there weren't right. He didn't know how, but he just didn't like them.
He sighed, walking out of his room, grabbing his naginata from the bed. He walked out of his room, taking his time to get to the stairs that led up to the deck. As he did, he strapped his naginata to his back, making sure to leave the strap loose so that he could get it off him at any time. As he made his way on deck, he stopped. He was still a few steps from the deck, but already he could see Killika. He had heard that there were people still there, that nothing ever happened in Killika. That it was just a quiet, peaceful place. But, seeing it now, it was anything but what he had heard. All he could see was fiends, and open shore. He couldn't stop staring._________________ |

| Unlike Shinu, Mieli knew not just where he was but when he was there. When the boat docked at Kilika Shinu was about to learn just what kind of mystery he was wrapped up in. Mieli and Shinu had been warped ahead to the future to defeat Sin there.
Why were they in this future time rather than their own? Well Sin is reborn each time after the calm, and each time needs a summoner to bring that calm. Perhaps being so far in the future with Spirans reforming themselves so much they may have finally attoned as much as they needed to exorcise Sin.
Mieli was hoping to awaken before Shinu to help him understand when he was.
Mieli saw Shinu out on the main deck ready to walk ashore."Not quite the Kilika you remember is it?" "Don't talk to me." "I'd encourage you to listen to me before you start making groundless assumptions and then persisting to act on them." Shinu stayed silent and listened for a moment."You're in the future, not by days, not by months, but by years. Many years in the future. I don't think you'd fathom the date if I told you. Unfortunately Spira never changes too much in too many places so it should seem familar to you, although it is awfully hard to identify. Of course it goes without saying your mother, family, and friends are not here. You won't find them anywhere here, and even if Sin had never attacked your own town they couldn't exist here anyway. I'm hoping that right now what your thinking of is not how horrible it is that your hometown is no longer how you remember it, but that a temple is still here. The fayth is waiting for you. I think it is good you're seeing this early." "Why." "Because this is the single best reminder of what happens to Spira when a summoner fails. The faster you move towards the temple, the faster you'll be able to keep another soul from having to go through any experience similar to the one you're going through now. Shall we?" _________________ Kaim Argonar owns you. |

| "So we're ready to land, then?" Erk appeared at Shinu's shoulder. "We'll have quite a ways to go to the temple, especially with the island in this state. Best be sure that you're ready. We wouldn't want to end up with our backs to a wall." Erk turned and began to ascend the stairs to the steering platform to speak with the captain. |

| Although Shinu had recently shown signs of impulsiveness, a lack of rationalization, and perhaps a bit of immaturity, nothing could have compared to what he was about to do. He was not about to search around in his brain for the right questions to ask Mieli so that he could better understand the astounding statement that he just heard. Hearing that he had traveled into the future was not going to sink in, mostly because Shinu was not willing to allow it to sink in just yet. He refused to believe that everything was gone, including his mother, and his home. Shinu looked at Mieli, he looked at Asuma, and he certainly looked at Erk, who definitely did not understand the situation. Asuma didn't either for that matter, and for as much as Shinu was concerned, neither did Mieli. No one understood! He was alone! Alone in the world to rot away just like his home was doing! No! Shinu was not going to tolerate that. He was not going to tolerate any of this. If it was the last thing he did, he was going to go home, no matter what got in his way, and he was going to do it now. Fuc* this! Shinu started to yell, but those where the only two words that could be readily identified, the rest was just loud noise that came from an extremely angry and confused mouth. It was no where near English or Al Bhed he was speaking, but he felt he was getting his point across. He also understood that since he was sprinting towards the edge of the ship, his next move would get it across if the yelling didn't do it for his guardians. He gripped his fine sword Nuraki tight in his left hand and with one more large stride, he pushed off of his right leg off into the sky. He thought he could fly. Shinu literally felt like he was going to be able to fly from the water all the way past the pier and to the he would land where his home used to be. Sadly, he believed that his home would reappear when he landed as well. He thought that if he closed his eyes, he could do all of this and get his mom and his life back. For the first time since becoming a summoner, he wished he wasn't. He wasn't quitting, he was dreaming that he could just turn back the hands of time since they so involuntarily turned themselves against him. While Shinu had his eyes closed, lost in a deep though, he was abruptly interrupted by the rough impact of the crown of his head pounding through the first layer of water in the deep ocean. He kept zipping straight through until finally the water's density resisted and he struggled to kick his way back up to the surface. When he did, all the anger rushed back to him as he frantically swam towards the shore to get to his home that wasn't even there. His arms and feet flapped vigorously to try and get to his destination. Unannounced to Shinu, he was about to get some company on his pleasure swim to the past. Two shahagins made their way towards him from behind, silently swooping in on what would undoubtedly be their first human prey in a long while. These shahagins were green in color, with yellow undertone on a slender build. They had four fins coming out, two small ones on the top accompanied by two longer ones on the bottom used to swim. As pain shot through Shinu's body, the blood pumped faster, and his anger grew by the second. His temperamental bubble had just popped on top of the one that was already shattered. He felt the bites simultaneously strike, those damn deceiving bastards, was the only thought Shinu could come up with. The numerous sharp teeth began to plant themselves half an inch deep into his skin. One was grasped on to the small space between his ribs and his hip and the other planted on the left side of his lower back. Shinu was none too pleased to say the least, but was left unphased. The pain passed through as his temper overwhelmed the sensation. As his right arm took long smooth strokes while his feet kicked, his left arm came across his body at the same time as his arm went up and he jammed the tip of Nuraki into the shahagin's face. Shinu repeated this four times and over and finally recognized the life ending in this shahagin due to the focal point of the pain now turning to his back. His legs hit the bottom of ocean floor and he began to sprint, well, more like crawl, but he thought that he was sprinting. When he peered up, he saw the exact spot his house used to be. It would have been nice had it not been for a ravenous pair of fox like creatures waiting for him to reach the shores. They were barking in a dog like fashion, their tongues hanging from their mouths as the electricity surged around them and sparks flew off of their bodies. Shinu was going to make them pay for standing in his way, that was all that he knew, and did recognize that they would not pursue him into the water. When he finally reached the pier, the two fiends known as rochez were foaming at the mouth and drooling at the tip of their tongue in anticipation of their chance at a human snack. Quickly Shinu got a hold of the dead shahagin and held it by its bottom fins and stretched them out wide. He sprang up in front of the pier and one rochez attacked him, taking a bite out the right side of his chest. Shinu angrily yelled out at the fox like creature and actually barked at him before proceeding to cuss it out. Woof woof bitch! Before it could pull back and give its companion a chance to bite, Shinu wrapped the shahagin around its neck and tied the fins together tight, sending a shock through each of them as the water conducted the electricity. Shinu's shock finally ended when he grabbed the rochez by the face and slammed it backwards into the water. The second rochez now charged Shinu up and took a huge leap up towards Shinu's head. He ducked and held the blade out strong horizontally as the fox passed over and ran its front legs straight into the side of the blade, cleanly slicing them off and a howl of pain from the rochez ensued. It landed face first onto the wooden pier and made eye contact with Shinu who still had that damned shahagin eating at its back, which was probably looking pretty bad by now. He was going to get rid of them both now, tired of the games. He ran at the rochez and jumped up over it, falling back first on top if in a reverse body slam style, crushing the shahagin under his weight. Its teeth were smashed into Shinu's body tissue for good and separated from its mouth as it became one with the immobile rochez. Shinu rolled off and slammed Nuraki straight through them both, creating a foxy fish kabob of sorts. Their water and electric bases mixed together to create the same combination that would kill both pairs. Now Shinu had to jiggle the handle of Nuraki a bit to wiggle the blade free of the deceased bodies. He took two jogging steps on his pace to start sprinting towards home again. Pain started to sink in and take its place on the couch of feelings that where overwhelming Shinu, right next to fatigue that still hadn't left his body. The wind seemed to change, and it wasn't natural, two floating eyes were now circling Shinu high in the air, constantly rotating and flapping their disgusting wings, staring Shinu down with their solo eye. For a bit of time, Shinu tried and tried to jump and slash upwards to cut the floating eyes, but they just continued to mockingly dance around him high above his head. In a lackadaisical show of mercy the two floating eyes sent out a concentrated beam of light from both directions. They landed with the same force to the point where it just stood Shinu up straight, a moment of shock, before he collapsed to his knees. His eyes lost focus momentarily, and when they cleared back up, a figure zoomed into frame. The sharp, long and pointy beak smashed into his flesh just beneath his collar bone and smashed straight through the other side. AHHHHHH!!!! Shinu yelled out in pain as his eyes became very clear. The newly arrived condor began flapping side to side, trying to dig his beak back out of Shinu's body for another swoop. Shinu was having none of that, and angrily grabbed the skinny extension of the beak in his right and and crushed it under his strength. He yanked out the arrow head back end of it and stood to his feet. Before the confused floating eyes could react, Shinu already cocked back and sent that beak flying into one of their eye. A penetrating blow landed as it went clean through and the aerial cyclops came crashing down. As it fluttered on the ground in pain, Shinu walked over slowly towards it, ready to finish it off, or so it seemed. This angered the other floating eye, and it began to fly forward, aiming dead in the center of Shinu's back. Suddenly, Shinu turned and flipped Nuraki into the air. The blade and hilt turned over one another, over and over, the vertical spin hurling towards the floating eye who didn't have enough time to stop at this point. The blade sliced through, cutting it in half before the hilt smashed into it, sending it flying further back before the blade came back around to slice it again. Shinu ran to retrieve his blade and finally kept moving. At this point, Shinu was all but done energy wise. His adrenaline could only take him so far, he was just a human, and a young one at that. This was only his second true test of valor, and though he was managing, it certainly wasn't pretty. He was bleeding from all over now, his chest, shoulder, collarbone, back, and who knew where else while he wasn't paying attention. He was running out of gas, and when he finally reached his home, he was deflated when he saw what awaited. Two ochus stood on his home, stomping on the ground he once walked on. They were just parading their large fat green bodies, and shaking their pink skirts that really angered Shinu. It was the first time he'd ever hated skirts, and he wished he could use their tentacles as chow mien later as payback. He couldn't do it alone though, he was going to have to get some strength back, and it was finally time to do what he'd been holding for so long. Valefor was suppressing his energy, and it was time to let it loose. Shinu held Nuraki tight in his left hand and pointed it straight into the sky. The entire sky was seemingly ripped apart as a giant rift was made. n all it's glory Valefor flew swiftly down, piercing the mid day's heated sky. Its enormous wings obstructed the sun's brilliant light and cascading its rays into various colors all around Valefor's body. A thick inner ring of pink and orange rays of light were followed by flashing blue and purple suspended auroras. As Valefor raced towards Shinu, the shining scarlet blade like feathers on its neck fell back uniformly. Within two seconds of Shinu's command, the all mighty Valefor is standing by his side, talons dug firmly into the ground. Shinu twirled Nuraki's base in the palm of his hand and grinned. He turned and looked to Valefor. As Valefor's eyes locked on to Shinu's, a form of mutual respect was made between the two as they finally met for the first time. He walked over slowly to Valefor and gave only one instruction. Make this quick.Valefor dipped its head and flew high into the sky, Shinu gripping his blade and bent down on one knee. He may have let the aeon loose, but his body was still tired and the electrical current that got sent through him was taking its toll right along with the blood loss. He was going to have to bide his time and wait until Valefor gave him the right opening. Until then, he was trying to press down on the various places that his clothing had been torn through, trying to stop the bleeding the best he could. Apparently Valefor headed Shinu's words greatly and was not in the mood to play any games. It charged right in and knocked the two ochus back with a sonic wing attack that stunned them momentarily. With the newly created opening, it swooped in and grasped a hold of two of the tentacles on each of the ochus and began to fly in a circle around them. It had tied them together and clenched the four tentacles together with its sharp talons. In an attempt to make quick work of the two fat fiends, Valefor rose high into the sky to begin its overdrive move, Energy Ray. Valefor spiraled into the air and spun in one rotation and cocked back with a pink orb of energy forming in its mouth. Blue rays of pure energy emitted horizontally as the pink beam grew in size. With a thrust forward Valefor released this Energy Ray and it went zooming through the air, swiping across the mid drifts of both the lard green bodies. Howling in pain the ochus let out a brown toxin of bad breath into the air, coming close to pulling loose from one another. From the right side, a fine blade came slicing through the fiends slightly above the powerful line that the Energy Ray created. Shinu dug his feet in, and completely stopped on a dime before shifting directions. He pushed off of his right foot and sprinted back past the ochus, slicing them again with Nuraki, this time a bit lower than the Energy Ray's fine dissection. Time seemed to stand still as the ochus stood there, no one made a move. Three layers of ochu lard began to fall over one another, disintegrating onto the ground, and then vanishing in a floating pile of pyreflies hovering in the air. Shinu attempted a light jog and met Valefor as it slowly landed back on the ground, putting its head out for Shinu to pet. Sensing its request Shinu stroked its head again. With that, Valefor flew into the air, reentering the rift it made in the sky, and it closed up after its exit. At that point, Shinu figured he should have summoned Valefor a lot sooner, and took a mental note to do that next time. Finally he could make it to his home. He ran and finally got to lie down on the ground where his home used to be. He looked into the sky, sad that all he had was lost. The adrenaline faded away, and so too did his strength. Fallen amongst the fiends, Shinu's eyes closed, and he passed out. ((So sorry this took so long. Fight whatever you want to fight, be reasonable please. If you don't know what to fight, get me on msn of pm me. Hope yall enjoyed the battle, it took forever for me to write it.)) _________________ |

| When Axel woke up they heard noices comming from the ramp. They run there quickly and saw Shinu screaming and swiming to the beach. That didn't looked well, he got bite by two shashagins. Kat couldn't understand why he acted like this. He seemed like mad, then she looked at destroyed Kilika. She couldn't believe her eyes but there was no time to waste, she asked Axel to stay with Tif, it was impossible for her to keep him close, besides she couldn't fight so he would be only in danger. As the ship docked Kat runned down to the beach. Shinu was away already so she had to move fast. On her way after him she saw few fiends. That wasn't just a normal fight. Shinu was fourious, that was obvious. On her way she met only one rochez. It attacked her, but Kat was still running. She jumped aside escaping from the fangs of the creature. She didn't do it fast enough though. Her right arm started bleeding, even though she didn't even notice that and chased after Shinu leaving the rochez behind her. She stopped only when she saw the aeon. It was Valefor. That meant that Shinu wouldn't run anymore. At least not for a while, she was worried though if he had enough strenght to keep on going, that's why she had to heal him as soon as possible. It wasn't easy. Shinu kept moving as he tried to help Valefor deal with last fiends. When the battle was finally over Kat ran to the summoner. He wasn't standing anymore. She knew he was on his limit. She sat down besides him and looked at his body. He was still bleeding from so many wounds. Kat noticed something else though. Shinu's body was full of electricy. That was the first thing she had to take care off; she calmed herself down and cast NulShock. Then she took out her backpack aid kit. She stiched carefully all the places Shinu got bit and then cast Cura on it. She could do nothing about his shirt though. It was so badly destroyed that there was no point to even try sew it. The good thing was that the wounds closed and there was almost no sign of them. Almost. He was still covered by his own blood. She looked around and saw small river. She walked over there and put a bandage in the water. Then she came back to Shinu and wiped his face with it softly. Then she did the same with his neck and chest. Kat looked at him blushing. She never was so close with any guy before, even unconscious one. She took a deep breath and leaned back. She had never used so many spells at once. It was tiering. She closed her eyes waiting for others to get there too. She was hoping that they wouldn't get into trouble... |

| A shadow loomed over them both then.... As they witnessed the ship hurtling breakneck towards the beach. Erk stood upon the control deck, the ship's wheel grasped in his gnarled, sure hands. The captain stood behind him, harping and screaming somehow in the same breaths. "MY SHIP!!! MY SHIP!!!! STOP!!!!!!!" The captain beat futilely at Erk's arms. "Well, I'm commandeering it!" Erk shreiked back without turning. "UNDER WHO'S AUTHORITY?!?!?!" "YEVON'S! Now sit down... and SHUT UP!" Erk roared back, and sent the captain flying back across the deck with a backhand. "Hang on whippersnapper: I"M COMING!" Erk called out manically, as the ship crashed into the beach, and plowed through whatever sand or flesh stood in it's way. Flying eyevalls passed over the deck and attempted to blast the deck away, but Erk, laughing, knocked them from the air. Finally, after what seemed like an agonizing eternity to the captain, the ship ground to a halt, halfway to the forest. Erk climbed astride the prow and shouted, "WHO WANTS SOME?!?!" Lightning flared from his fingers as he laughed. Bolts of thunder screamed from his perch above the blood-soaked sands, and tore into the swarming abominations below. All the while, Erk cackled what sounded uncomfortably close to maniacal laughter.

| As he saw Shinu jump from the deck, he knew that he wouldn't be able to do anything to stop him. He was in a fevered state, and would probably attack him if he tried to stop him. But as Kat followed him, well, he just snapped. As Kat ran from the boat, Asuma whipped off his naginata, the strip and sheath thrown into his pockets. As he ran forward, a rochez tried to snap at Kat. As it did, it's life met a bitter end, as Asuma's naginata blade stabbed through it's head, leaving it's jaw wide open. As a slight electric shock flew through his naginata to his hands, he threw the roachez from his naginata's end, hitting a few fiends that had noticed the fight and were coming after them.
As three more rochez came from behind him, Asuma spun his naginata like a regular pole, fending off the first roaches and sending it flying to the right of him, as it lay stunned on it's side. The second got close to him, attempting to bite his left thigh. But, as it's teeth neared his pants, the blunt end of the pole met the top of the roachez's head, knocking it to the ground and caving it's skull in. The third came behind him, biting his right shoulder and sending electricity throughout his body. Yelling in rage and pain, Asuma, took the creature by the throat, ripping it off his body and throwing it to the ground. As the creature landed, Asuma sliced his naginata's blade across the sand, cutting the roachez's body in half at the chest. The first roachez, howling in pain and finally regaining itself, met a bitter end as Asuma's blade sliced across it's body, cutting it open.
As Asuma turned to see if Kat was ok, he was met with a large condor that flew at him. It sliced a long gash from his left forearm to his left shoulder, as it flew past him. His face turning into a scowl, Asuma detached the naginata, turning it into a sword and a pole. As the ship slammed into the beach, Asuma's attention was drawn away from the attacking condor. Swooping at him again, the condor screeched loudly, flying straight at him. His attention turning back to the condor, his pole spun in a circle, hitting the condor in the side of the head as it flew at him. It's beak deflected, it could only fly forward as it's momentum was turned against it. Asuma moved his katana over, letting the condor's open beak meet with the blade, slicing it in a straight line from mouth to wing. As Asuma turned, he saw that Kat was ok, and that the old guado man, who seemed to eb the one who crashed the boat into the shore, was running to the forest. Ignoring the older man for a moment, he ran to Kat. "Kat...don't run away without thinking first! You could've been hurt..." Asuma said sternly. But, he was one to talk. He had chased after her, trying to protect her and keep her from harm, and here he was all sliced up and bloody._________________ |

| After a bit of time, Shinu's eyes shot open in a flash. The sun got in his eyes, and he wasn't too pleased about that. The glare bothered his eyes, but suddenly he felt lucky to even have the chance to be bothered by the sun, it meant he was still alive. Well, I'm glad I came out of that one. I'm going to have to work on taking care of my body now and again.Shinu finally had calmed down considerably from just a few minutes ago. He did have good reason too, he was alive, and in his mine, he'd just kicked a lot of ass. He wasn't short on style, but defense, maybe he could work on that. For now he needed to worry about his group, and not think about this situation. He put them in enough of a bind for the day. He couldn't help but wonder what this meant for Yunalesca, but he remembered to ask Mieli about it later. For now, he needed to get to the temple. Summoning his aeon felt so great, and now, aside from some soreness, so did he. He knew Kat healed him, and he was grateful to have her around. He would have been done for if not for her and whoever else was destroying fiends around him. Well everyone, I'm sorry for that tirade, maybe we should continue on to the temple?_________________ |
