Uhm, yeah... The Sphere Grid is NOT character development. CD means how characters change throughout the story.

Thank you! Smile

It IS technically character development because it's how they gain abilities and attributes, but even if you mean just story wise, it's still the same answer for me, FFX.

Yes, but in general, that's what character development is and that's what every gamer goes by.

I agree with Tif, because I hated the Esper system, but I loved the way the characters in VI had their story revealed, so her point in general worked for me.

Not necessarily. You can't just make a blanket statement like that and assume that it applies to all people of a certain group. Hell, it's gamerism! Final Fantasy X had the best character development since they didn't simply level up. This is especially true since you had other questions on your definition of "character development."

Sorry, sweetheart, but that's what character development means probably 95% every time someone says it. Smile If I did, however, mean 'stat gaining' and 'abilities', it would've been more on the lines of "Best Stat-Rising System".

Also, I didn't put "Sphere Grid" in the slot, I put "Final Fantasy X". It's not specific, but if I did mean for it to be Sphere Grid, I would have put Sphere Grid instead of Final Fantasy X.

Sorry to tell you sweety, but the development system is the way you would refer to the sphere grid. I just had a conversation with a guy about video games today, and we talked about how bad ff2s development system was. Guess who uses the development system... the characters. So it works both ways.

Ohhh. I thought you meant how a character's story/personality changed during the game. Like actual characteristics development.

I've normally referred to sphere grids, GF systems, Esper Systems, Materia System, and whatever else as ability systems or combat development.

Character development is not something specific to gaming, it has to do with movies and psychology as well. Meaning how a person develops their character or personality.
