Appearance: A Human-Guadon mix, Chandra looks like her mother, only with her father's coloring and some of his facial quirks. Chandra stands at a moderate five foot, seven inches and weighs a hundred and twenty pounds. Like her Guadon ancestors, her hair is dark green - the approximate color and texture of fresh pine needles. She keeps her hair tied back as best she can, but there are always strands sticking in front of her silvery eyes. Her build is slight and she has some muscle on her arms, torso and legs, developed primarily over the past two years. Though she is naturally pale, her skin has roughened and tanned from assisting newcomers set up their tent homes or guiding people through the Mi'ihen Highroad. She also inherited her father's arched green eyebrows and long pointed ears.
She has long since given up wearing traditional Guadon clothing and chooses to don an interesting combination between Guadon and Human garb instead. Usually, she is clad in dark clothing comprised of a loose tunic and pants - she refuses to wear a skirt whenever she can - but she keeps her Guadon cloak closeby. This dark blue cloak reaches well past her knees and has a hood to draw up over her face if she so chooses. She has two pairs of shoes: a strong pair of boots she uses when she is traveling longer distances or working heavily and her softer moccasins.
Due to the fact she's been living in the poorest area of Spira for the past two years, her everyday clothing is in need of repair. She does what she can, but her pants are patched and her left shirt sleeve has a giant rip in it from when she fought a basilisk. Because she still hasn't bothered to fix this up, she ties a piece of grey cloth around her upper left arm every time she wears that particular shirt.
What little armor she has is a gift from her father, sent to the Mi'ihen Highroad with Kalev. It's made of studded leather, which allows her to move quickly and freely. She wears two partial guards, one on each of her lower arms; these pieces of dark leather have been inscribed with ancient runes. For battle, she uses a six-foot long staff with a spear-like point at one end.
Battle: Chandra is a learning – and still fairly incompetent – blue mage. She has only fought a few fiends before, namely the basilisk on the journey from Guadosalam to the Highroad. She has a six-foot long staff with a sharp point on one end. Her fighting style is smooth and quick. She keeps herself in good physical condition. Although she has some ability in blue magic, she prefers hand-to-hand combat instead; after her brother learned to fight, he taught her how to manipulate human and Guadon joints and pressure points with her hands. This combined with some of the moves she has seen men use in various fights in the bars comprises her favored fighting style.
Personality: Despite choosing to live amongst Humans, Chandra is very much like her Guadon ancestors. She prefers to keep her true thoughts and feelings hidden from outsiders, usually going about that in the way of not speaking what she thinks. She is usually on the more reserved side, preferring to keep to her particular studies. While growing up, she was allowed little contact with the outside world; her human half hated this and her curiosity grew. Currently, much of what she says and does is solely to elicit a response from other people. She lurks at the bar scene, never drinking, just so she can see how poorly some people behave themselves under the influence of alcohol.
She tends to take Guadon mystery to the extreme. Chandra is quite cunning and secretive. She will lie if it serves her purposes and she has gotten good at it. Her father always disapproved of lying and was furious when she did it for the first time, but the seven-year-old’s mind told her that he was just jealous because she tricked him. The girl grew into an opportunistic teenager, always weighing whether actions of herself and other people would benefit or hurt her in the long run. Although self-centered, she is not a narcissist. Why? An old proverb that her father once told her went “to benefit many is more favorable than to benefit few”. She’s calculating, but if she sees the logic in helping someone else, she’ll do as reasoning dictates.
Biography: One night in the middle of their winter season, Chandra was the fourth child born to Baladeva and Ismene Delaney. Her next older brother, Kalev, was the one who picked out her name, as she was born on the night of a full moon. Not only was growing up with three older brothers - two of whom were half-brothers, fourteen and sixteen years older than Kalev - difficult, but to complicate matters, her mother was human and father was guadon. Her father is a Maester of Yevon and her mother had trained in stealth.
Chandra idolized her older brother growing up. Kalev was only two years older than his sister, but he didn't have the difficulties with their parents she had. Starting when she was old enough to make some of her own decisions, she tried to do everything she could to get out of her father's control. Her father believed that the only way to do well in life was to follow the path of the Guado, something that Chandra resented more and more - even to the point of fighting with her brother about ideologies.
When she was sixteen, she finally decided that she was tired of spending her time in Guadosalam, bending herself to appeal to her father's every wish. It was fine for her mother and brother, but it would not suit her. On a moonless summer night, she gathered up her necessary belongings and left without even telling her parents where she was going. From there, she spent about a week journeying to the Mi'ihen Highroad.
The journey was difficult, but Chandra was determined to leave her previous life behind as much as she could. During this time, she encountered several foes and began developing her knowledge of blue magic. Adapting from the stiff palace-like life she lived to working amongst some of the poorest residents was difficult, but she learned to adapt. Her eighteenth birthday has recently come and gone and she decided she was ready for another change.
