Well let me tell you girl, let praise be to Yevon for letting that boy train in public. You already know how he's so tall and his muscles are so defined on that athletic body of his. Those penetrating dark brown eyes of his are so intense when he's training.

What about his hair?! Oh I love that short brown hair of his. He doesn't even try and it's so soft, I touched it once you know.

Helen, will you shut up so I can tell the story? Yevon help her. Anyways, you know how he has that goatee, oh Helen, his goatee was so short today, it was barely there, but so definitive. His moustache was exactly the same, oh, makes me want to kill those full lips of his!

Girl, I haven't even got to that copper brown skin of his, glistening in the sun as he did his pushups. Oh, his arms were shining as the muscles all but winked at me.

Ok, well, he has that tight, form fitting black shirt on. That one with the right sleeve all the way down to his wrist, and the left one leaving that muscular arm bare. Oh that crimson number "1" in the middle of his chest makes me wish I was his number one!

Oh I know the feeling! Did he have those shorts?

Mhm! Those long red ones that come down to his mid calf? You know, girl, I wish I could find out what's under them! Oh how I long to rub my finger down that black trim on the side of those shorts, all the way down to that mystical black "1" on each side and work back up.

Jasmine! Girl you need to just stop! But before you do, I know he wore my favorite shoes.

Helen, he only wears the same pair of athletic shoes that are black on the top and red on the bottom. Oh that boy can color coordinate.

Daddy! I just heard some girls talking about Shinu again! You know, Jasmine and Helen. You know how much I like Jasmine, I think I might just go kick his ass right now!

Boy, you had better sit down and calm yourself, you know Shinu will hurt you, and I'm not trying to get into it with his mama, that's a nice woman.

But dad! I could take him, I'm seriuos.

Shinu is not a little boy anymore. You know he has that sword Nuraki, finest crimson blade I've seen in years. He has those quick feet and a lot more brute strength than I think you can handle. He's agile, he's tactical, he's well composed, he's your all around fighter. I saw that boy last week do some things with that sword that these eyes never laid eyes on before.

Damn it dad, don't you think I know?! I've seen his fancy blade work, his multi slash attack, his spin cycle, his uppercut drive, all of it dad! I've watched him train, I've been studying him, and I can beat him.

I'm going to tell you a secret son. I've been around the temples for a long long time, and that boy, he's a Summoner.

What... that... that doesn't make sense, he's never left Kilika.

I know son, but it's just a feeling that this old man gets. When I'm around him... I can just sense the fayth, and I don't know why. But if he is a Summoner, and you try to fight him, you're going to be in for more than just sword work. The more powerful entities in all of Spira could be ready to fight for him if he chooses.

Dad, there's no way that Shinu is unbeatable, even if he is a Summoner, which I highly doubt. You are so wise father, tell me how I can beat him.

Son, the only chance I would imagine you having is if you could attack from a distance. Maybe projectiles, or even better, some black magic. His sword and speed can't protect him from that for too long. But you need to calm down, and go wash up for dinner.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all enjoying that cool Kilikan breeze out there. Let's get this started shall we?

Ok, I have to ask about the recent acussations that you are a bit of a flirt.

You know Stella, I wouldn't say all that... but wow, is that a new hairdo? Yeah, I think that is a different bun than you usually use. Maybe after this program you and I can get together and...

Shinu! I guess that answers the question. *wink* So let's move on, there have been some stories that you are becoming a brute as of late. What do you have to say about that?

I mean, what can I say really? The Kilikan boys like to think they can defeat me, so I give them a chance in a sparring match. Now if they can't withstand a little punishment in return for an opportunity, that's not my problem. A little broken nose here and a shattered rib cage there and everyone makes a big deal out of it.

I can't imagine why, but I guess you can agree that talks about your arrogance is warranted?

Now let's put arrogance into context for a minute. It's just because I say what I'm going to do, and so that adds a little pressure and fun to the mix. I've always backed up what I say, and I think if that makes me arrogant, I'm happy to agree with it. Let's be serious though, someone's low self esteem added to my high level of self confidence is a great formula for my arrogance. But goodness Stella, a good friend comes by for an interview and you're just grilling me. We don't have anything good to talk about?

Well, you're right, I'm sorry Shinu. Let's talk about your mind for a minute here, can we?

Sure. I mean, the mind is the key to success. I think that my intellect is what rounds me off more so than my fighting. My mother always taught me everything coming up and learning just seems to come natural to me.

Uh huh, and I suppose that intellect leads to that infamous romantic creativity of yours?

Well now, that sounds so much better than flirtatious. This also comes from my mother. She taught me a thing or two about how to treat a lady, so I suppose combining that with my intellect it makes for some pretty romantic moments. Let's not blow it out of proportion though, I've still only had one girlfriend. Let's not let these talks lead to a bad reputation as a womanizer.

We surely wouldn't want that, so we can talk about something else. Perhaps your training and level of determination?

Ah, I'll be happy to. Well big surprise, this comes from my mother. She's great, she cooks, she cleans, she does everything you could ask. She works more hours than most men, and still finds the time to help me develop as a man. So seeing her determined to make me a good person has taught me a great work ethic. No matter what happens, no matter who was born with more talent, no one will ever outwork me.

I think I see a recurring theme, do you care to share any more words about your mother whom we all love so dearly?

Well, all I can say is that I'm in big trouble because I was supposed to be doing some chores right now. I love you mom! Please don't kill me when I get home! Thanks for the air time, gotta go!

Shinu knew he was going to be in trouble, and it wasn't out of the ordinary. He liked to have fun every once in a while, and his mom was not going to be pleased with his appearing on the daily radio show when she needed him around the house. His fear was overshadowed by his sheer joy. Tomorrow was Yunalesca's arrival at Kilika. She already obtained all the aeons, but she wanted to come and give a farewell speech. Shinu was so excited to get the chance to be in her presence, he walked into his hut out of habit and didn't even realize his mother was staring at him.

When he finally came to, he was met with a smile and two weeks of being grounded effective immediately. After an hour of turned down pleas to start the punishment in two days being met with responses of repsonsibility and consequences, Shinu finally gave up. He went to his mat and just laid down to sulk for a while. He did a lot of thinking on this day, and he decided that defying his mother this once was just going to have to be done. He figured even a year's worth of punishment would be a good enough price for getting to see Yunalesca. He wouldn't be able to wait on the docks with his mother, but maybe, just maybe, he was going to be able to meet her in person. A brilliant idea triggered in Shinu's mind, and this put him at ease. He told his mother that he loved her, and put himself to sleep. This, was the true beginning, of Shinu's story.
