Strengths & Weaknesses:
Marinus' strengths are his agility and precision. He's a quick striker as the blitzballs he shoots are quick to release. This makes him a more competent distance fighter, but he can also fight up close. Fighting in water is his specialty, and like a home field advantage for him. The downside of this is that his defense is suspect at best. He is such an offensive minded person that he disregards his body. His overdrive is triggered by a prolonged fight, which seems to be like the second half of a blitz game to him.
His overdrive, Blitzkrieg, is a powerful move. He throws his blitzball up into the air and jumps up after it, draws back his hand and gets ready to hit it. After it's sent speeding towards it's opponent, the blitzball seperates into 3, to cause a devestating effect. (Here's what it looks like, the last overdrive of Wakka)


Personality: Marinus is as rich as he needs to be, now that his fame has equalled his arrogance. His son was the only one who would reassure him, but with him gone, Marinus has turned to inner cockiness.

His obsession to become the best there ever was has lately taken a driving force in his life. Constantly wanting more money, achieving higher scoring records and training harder to become more dominant. This isn't such a bad thing at the moment, but could turn ugly in time.

Marinus is quite fond of travelling, but doesn't get to do so all that often anymore. Blitzball season is busy time for this star player. He's also a noble person for those who get to know him without judging him immediately. He stands for what is right, but after losing his son, nothing seems right.

Biography: Marinus has always loved Blitzball. Since he was very young, he practiced every week, to become the best he could. When he was just 17 he joined the Luca Goers. He quickly rose to superstardom and become a well respected player of Blitzball, but he isn't the best player.

He met a young woman when he was 19 and they had a child. Unfortunately, the young woman died giving birth. This was a blow to Marinus' life, having little support to raise his son. He raised his son by himself, adventuring around Spira when ever the Blitzball season wasn't on. During a visit to Besaid Island for a friendly Blitzball match in the sea with the Besaid Aurochs, Sin attacked. Marinus was separated from his son, being swept out to sea. He swam for days trying to reach land, but was rescued by a passing boat. The news he got had shocked him, The Crusaders report was that a young boy had gone missing and hadn't been found. Marinus was distraught, thinking that he lost his son. He went searching for his son, hoping that he could find him, but couldn't find any clue of where he was. After a couple of weeks searching, he gave up and moved on.

Marinus made his way back to Luca where he is living, playing Blitzball and honing his Blitzball skills to become the best Blitzball player ever. He is well respected amongst players and local people. His ordeal with sin has made him different to what he use to be. He use to be a Noble and honest man, but now is arrogant and always wanting to become more famous than he already is.
